Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast for Season 1, was only occasionally observed. After Season 2, she became a regular cast member and is still part of it today. Discussing her role, and any resemblances to her real life, beyond the screens She was able describe her own personal experience with discrimination based on race to those who are "Marthas" saying as well as, "I use it, not just in her role in the house as Martha but in all aspects of her life as Martha and I do very often lean heavily on race as I mentioned the past, which includes experiences where I feel as if I've been the victim in situations just because of the color of my skin. Even though I've never suffered physical abuse because of the color of my skin however, I have certainly experienced insults verbally. If someone's saying an insult or is biting someone or smacking me, I will use any racist insults that felt real to me. This feeling is used nearly every time because I can feel as if she's been punched in some way in almost all of the scenes."
